POLISHING AND GELCOAT RESTORATION

Boat Polishing and Gelcoat Restoration in Ottawa

Sun, water, and contaminants fade gelcoat over time and leave your hull looking chalky and uneven. Our machine polishing process removes oxidation and fine imperfections to reveal a clear, mirror-like finish across every surface. All major restoration work is performed in our shop for consistent, high-quality results. Mobile service is available for maintenance cleaning and light polishing on vessels that cannot be transported.

Our Approach

Newer boats usually need a single-step polish. Older or heavily sun-faded hulls often require multi-stage restoration including wet sanding for deep oxidation and texture removal where needed. We assess the gelcoat condition first and recommend only what your boat actually needs.

Not sure if your boat needs a full restoration or just a light polish? We will take a look and give you a straight answer before any work begins.

Included Protection

Every polishing service includes a marine-grade sealant or ceramic booster that shields against UV damage and oxidation for approximately six months. A great option for pre-season preparation or end-of-season care before storage.

Why Environment Matters

Polishing and restoration work best in controlled conditions. Heat, direct sun, and airborne debris all affect the result. All major correction work is performed in our shop for consistent, high-quality finishes. Mobile service is ideal for maintenance cleaning and light polishing on site.

Pricing

Boat polishing and gelcoat restoration is quoted individually after a proper surface inspection. Size, condition, and the level of correction required all affect the final price. We are always upfront about what the job requires before any work begins.

Marine Ceramic Coating for Boats in Ottawa

Marine ceramic coatings form a durable, glass-like barrier that locks in shine and shields against oxidation, salt spray, and chemical staining. They make cleaning faster and easier and keep your boat looking freshly polished for years, not months. As a certified Coatings installer, Summit applies true professional-grade marine coatings under controlled conditions to ensure even coverage and long-term performance. No spray-on imitations, no inflated claims.

01

Wash and Degrease

Full exterior wash to remove surface grime, followed by a degreasing step that strips old waxes and contaminants from the gelcoat and reveals the true surface condition beneath.

Decontamination

Iron and mineral removers lift embedded contaminants from below the surface to prevent future staining and ensure a clean, solid base before any correction or coating begins.

02

Polishing and Surface Correction

Oxidation, water spots, and dullness are carefully machine-polished to restore depth and clarity to the gelcoat, creating a flawless surface that allows the coating to bond properly and perform at its best.

03

Coating Application

High-solids marine ceramic applied in small 16×16 inch sections. Each section levelled after flashing to achieve uniform bonding and a deep, consistent gloss across the full hull and topside.

04

Final Inspection

Every inch of the hull and topside checked to confirm even protection, consistent gloss, and a smooth, durable finish before your boat leaves the shop.

Testimonials

What Our Clients Say.

Ottawa boat owners trust Summit to protect their investment season after season. Here is what they said after their appointment.

How long does detailing take?

Most vehicles take between two and six hours depending on the size and condition. Heavily soiled interiors, pet hair, or serious salt buildup may take a bit longer. We will always give you a realistic timeframe upfront.

On the interior we shampoo carpets and upholstery, deep clean all plastics, leather, vents, crevices, and consoles, and leave the glass streak-free. On the exterior we clean wheels, tires, grills, and glass, and safely remove road film and contaminants without damaging the surface.

Yes. From March through November we bring our fully equipped mobile unit to homes, offices, and parking lots across Ottawa and surrounding areas. We carry our own water, power, and compressed air so we never need yours.
